Belle Augusta Savransky
Belle is a NYC-based photographer and writer specializing in portraiture. Her work aims to celebrate and dissect the art in the everyday, and to capture the cinematic moments that pass us by.
Belle works from the viewpoint that the more we recognize and appreciate the beauty of our day to day, the more creative power we have. Both her written and visual work hold a sense of captured time. Her aesthetic is interdisciplinary in spirit and process, drawing from her colorful past in film and fine art as well as her experience as a long-time New Yorker and mother of three.
She is inspired by the work of Vivian Maier, Cindy Sherman, Linda McCartney, and Paolo Reversi, and by the films of Wong Kar-Wai and Jim Jarmusch. Employing both traditional and experimental techniques, she creates fresh and thoughtful imagery that carries with it the weight of the subject's stories. As a writer, she seeks to enlighten and captivate readers with her essays, using words to transcend time and create momentary magic.
